Insane cost for parts?

hey everyone, i am going to do a tune-up of all these parts listed below in an effort for better gas mileage:

-o2 sensor $142/145-300zx fuel filter $13.99-ngk plugs/wires $44/61.52-distributor cap (oem) $20.68-distributor rotor (oem) $8.30

keept in mine that these are all OEM prices. the fuel filter, cap, and rotor prices are fine but what gets me are the plugs and the o2 sensors. the dealer is asking $11 a pop for the platinum tipped ones, are they same as the $2 ones at kragen or autozone? is $61.52 reasonable for stock wires?

now onto the sensors. i wasnt aware that there were 2? the dealer is asking $142 for the front and $145 for the rear. pdm-racing.com has them for "1996 (07/95)-1998 DOHC OBD2 240SX NTK 02 Sensors (21026) ………… $58 each"

are the front and rear sensors the same part, just that they go in different places? becasue the site only lists one o2 sensors for '98. o2 sensor pricing

if i were you i'd get the iridium plugs and aurora wires from pdm, they are cheaper and a much better product. same with the o2 sensor, pdm has it for alot cheaper.

Napa has NGK plugs for 2 bucks a piece too

That o2 sensor is pretty steep. I just replaced mine in my 89, and it was only about 50cdn. I want better gas mileage too

Have you tried http://www.nissanwholesaleparts.com ? Check with Jayson on some OEM pricing, he seems to do quite good

the rear o2 does nothing for fuel control unless the front o2 completely fails and even then it works in a fail safe state. the rear o2 is mearly a moniter device for obd II testing. it moniters cat effeciency by comparing front o2 cycles to the rear o2 cycles. so no need to replace it unless it is throwing a check engine light.

dude, cap and rotor from autozone should run you maybe 20 dollars fuel filter maybe 5 bucks from kragen, o2 sensor is highway robbery, just get a generic single wire from any car parts store and solder that bish in. wires sound about right. dont let nissan screw you man.

96 and up are heated o2's 3 to 4 wire
