My truck was making a weird noise so I changed the throw bearing, pilot bushing, clutch, and pressure plate. After changing all of those parts the noise was still there. I think it is the input shaft bearing, does anyone know how hard it is to change or how much it would cost to get a shop to do it. Also how long should it last if it is making a slight noise? The noise it makes is light metal scraping above 1000 rpms and when I engage the clutch it stops.

I have heard of this from several 5 speed owners. I had a buddy get his replaced and seems like the clutch replaced and flywheel turned at the same time and it was around $300.00

I ended up replacing the clutch, and it still made the noise. So I took it to a transmission shop and they wanted $1100 to rebuild it. So I went to a pick and pull junk yard, found the exact year and someone was nice enough to have already pulled the engine, 15 min later I was leaving with a transmission with a 13 month warranty and it was only $130. I put it in later that night and it runs like a champ.
