input needed, custom intake

i just bought another 240, a 92 this time. i want to eventually put ITBs on it but i dont have money right now. so i want to make my own intake manifold in my metals class at school. im going to use the upper intake from a 93 as the base for it and cut it at the top of the of the curve and weld up a new intake manifold and put the stock throttle body and maf on it. the question is, does anybody know what shape and size would be ideal for this? thanks for any opinions.

Have you seen those cast universal weld-on plenums on ebay? As far as the design of your plenum is concerned, it all depends on what you are after. Good method is to copy other proven designs or combinations of, talored to your setup.
