Hi Folks,

Been a while since I last posted here. Other than a defective headlight switch this Spring on my '03 6 Speed Coupe, the car has run great. Took a 5000 mile round trip to Vegas over the Winter rather than store the car. Still having trouble with the drivers door remote actuator. Wonder if "Biggie" finally replaced his. This morning I stopped by the gas station to fill up. The filler door will not release. Called dealer service. First words out of his mouth was defective actuator. Is this another of the somewhat famous $300 to replace devices? Any tips or suggestions? Can I defeat or bypass the actuator?

Yeah, replaced my door lock actuator, its a pain, but worth it not to have $200 in labor at dealership.

Havne't heard of anyone replacing the gas cap actuator. It may be very simple if you can get to it easily from the trunk. Can take your panel off back there and look, or search through the FSM online.
