Just this morning the inoperative brake light came on.A few months back the same message came on and I replaced the passenger side with a non oem and the problem was fixed then (big mistake using non-oem blubs.

I now have the message reading inoperative brake light that came on this morning. With the brake pedal pushed in none of my rear lights work at this time.

Where do I start? Brake Sensor? replace all the bulbs first including the top brake light on the rear deck. Harness maybe.

I learned my lessons this year with non-oem parts. This car only takes oem and that solves so many future problems that could have been prevented.

Well it looks like I replaced the last blub that went out on my passenger side with a SlyvanniaI got the brake lights back on go figure. Now the driver side is the one out this time.I have another slyvania bulb that was left over extra from last time.

I will throw that one in and see how it rides for a while.

Will I be ok with that? It is not a OEM though? I dont want future problems.

Sylvania LL seem to be a reliable substitute - OEM supplier.

Toshiba of Japan is the only oem supplier.Dealers usually substitute Sylvania Long Life not generic Sylvania.

My last purchase of OEM bulbs didn't look like the Toshibas that came in the car - and they were in the OEM box from Scottsdale. Just regular brass colored bases with no markings (at least that I can remember).

Hopefully they sourced a decent bulb.
