Inner tie rod play

After replacing both out tie rod ends I noticed about a 1/4" play in the shaft.
I noticed it on the passenger side, and I need to go back and see if its also present on the drivers side.
Has anybody here replaced the inner rod before ??
Under the boot per' say ?

I'm wondering now if the rack has slop in it.
Is there an adjustment to tighten it up a tad ?

Not near the FSM right now.

I changed them awhile ago do not remember if there was play in the rack, PM me your e-mail and I will send you those pages from the manual.

A lot of my parts where changed back in 2003 at the dealer. After 9 years, road salt from winter had done a number on them. I have no first hand knowledge.
