Inner tail lights on trunk

I have a 2001 Infiniti q45 and it doesn’t have inner trunk taillights does anyone know if the 97-01 models have compatible trunks that I can swap onto mine to give it inner taillights

Seems a later-model trunk might work, but it also seems like a lot of work to "backdate" a car. Yours has the backup lights on the decklid, IIRC.

If you do, just keep in mind it might not line up correctly. I had the hardest time trying to figure out why my trunk wasn’t latching sometimes especially in winter. I had to do a couple little things with the locking mechanism to make it work but it was a pain to chase down after buying a used lock and weatherstripping.

If you have the (01 model Gen 2 99-01 Y33 )
(the Gen 1 97-98 )trunk with inner tail lights will work . Just need the four bolts only. You also need the 97-98 trunk harness
So you have to tap in the 97-98 trunk harness to your 01 outer trunk tail light harness .
The blue & red wire on your outer tail lights is for brakes lights an green an red is your constant power .

I recently swapped one on my 2000 q45 with a 97 Trunk had the inner tails & had the 3rd brake light spoiler. Got super lukcy at junkyard with that find .
