Hello,

Was wondering if anyone has done their inner and outer tie rods on a 2000 and before pathfinder, basically a pre-2001 pathfinder. I'm thinking about doing mine since I have a little bit of play on the inner tie rods. Other than the tie rod removal tool is there anything else special? I heard there might be shim piece that you have to bend/crimp to keep the inner rod in place. as for securing the boot back on is a simple cable tie sufficient since I don't have a band clamp crimper.

Thanks!!!!

2000 and 2001 and later should be pretty much the same. The engine changed for 2001,
the rest was pretty much the same.

If you use a cable tie, get a cable tie tool from any big box HW store. It will do a better job than
your fingers, and long-term, you'll be glad you have it.

Chuck have you done them before? If so, were there any shims to mess with? Thanks
