Here is the problem, i recently bought a Nissan (a33) cefiro (same as the 2004 I35 just a different engine the VQ20DE) and i lowered it and put on 20 inch rims. Now my inner axle on the right side keeps going bad. Anyone with a lowered Nissan (a33) cefiro having the same problem, or if you lowered it and you have no problem?

Hey there and welcome!

It sounds like you have changed your axle angle causing stress on the inner joint. What did you use to lower it and is the "C" clip on the end of the joint still intact?

Hey Man

THANKS FOR THE REPLY. OK SO I WILL START. MY MECHANIC TOOK A SHOCK OR STRUT AS YOU WOULD CALL IT FROM A SUZUKI (DON'T KNOW THE MODEL) AND MIG WELDED ON THE BRACKETS FROM MY SHOCK ONTO THE SUZUKI'S. THEN HE MOVED THE PART WHERE THE COIL SPRING SITS AND BROUGHT IT LOWER . HE THEN TOOK OFF THREE COILS OFF THE SPRING... OH THE ORIGINAL BRACKETS THAT HE WELDED ONTO THE NEW SHOCK HE ALSO MANIPULATED THE HEIGHT ON THAT AND THIS NEW SHOCK IS ALSO A SHORTER SHOCK AS COMPARED WITH THE I35/ CEFIRO SHOCK. THE CAR RIDES LIKE STOCK SIT VERY LOW BUT KEEPS TEARING UP AXLES. IF YOU WANT I CAN EMAIL PICS OF THE CAR .

THIS "C" CLIP U REFER TO IS THE CLIP THAT LOCKS THE INNER AXLE IN PLACE INSIDE THE "CUP"? IF SO, THEN YES.

PLEASE SAY YOU CAN HELP ME. I'M VERY FRUSTRATED

Why would you let your mechanic do such a stupid thing like that to your car????

If you really wanted to lower it, you should have purchased the correct lowering springs designed for your model car along with the correct shocks/struts.....not cut springs and weld on crap from a different type of car .....o wonder you have problems, you totally screwed the pooch here

Look man... You can't fit 20s and ride alright without some modification.

My friend has some 45lbs 20s on his 97 Maxima... and hes probably somewhere on this forum--- has the cleanest maxima ever

he has to replace his axles ALL THE TIME -- hes lucky the shop warranties it so he gets it replaced every 2 months

I know that won't help but good luck
