Does anyone have experience with the inland empire one piece drive shaft?? I'm considering them over the Z1 platinum shaft because I've heard many people have troubles with excessive vibrations from them.

Don't know about Inland, but I just did an auto to manual swap and installed the Z1 platinum series drive shaft and love it. Haven't detected any noticeable vibrations yet. I did, however, also install a new Nismo trans mount and ES diff carrier bushings.

Guys, don't forget about our sponsor, Shaftmasters. I have bought 3-4 shafts from them, all custom, and have had great results. Plus, they may be less pricey!

I'm looking at the steal drive shaft, from them and would be adding a new Nismo mount, won't be doing the diff bushings only the mount.. just looked up the shaft master. And it's currently out of budget.

I will actually be replacing the difference bushings. Anyone know how to do this without removing the difference completely?? Along with replacing the trans mount??

Pretty sure that Diff is gonna have to come out to do the bushings... Considering the bolts that hold the diff in go through them. Thats one of my plethora of tasks with my new project 90 z... My diff is shot, carrier bearing, trans mount and almost all the bushings. Yay me. figured I would just replace the two piece drive shaft with a one piece from Inland. Used their products on other cars in the past with never an issue.

Well install went decent broke 2 exhaust bolts and that's it. But with the new single piece, I get some vibrations from 50 on up to about 75 on acceleration. But kind of mellows out on coasting. And deaccel. Could it be installer error?? Or maybe unbalanced shaft

Unfortunately Zach, I thought I mentioned when we met that vibration issues are a common thing with the 1-piece shafts, and many of the aftermarket shafts. Another small issue is that the carrier bearing is there for a reason, that being smoothing out a fairly long drivetrain for accel-decel torque, and that a 1-pc shaft must absorb and may or may not depending upon the manufacturer and cost, materials (cf or steel).
I personally am running my OEM shaft and have no plans to change that.
In the past reading about this issue, IIRC most users have simply contacted the vendor for replacement or repair or whatever, and which would be my suggestion at this point- any vibration at all is something you do not want to have. I would remove the new shaft and replace the old if possible until situation fixed before using the car significantly as well.

Try clocking the shaft 90 degrees.

I do plan on clocking it 90° I think it maybe be a install error. But also did find out that ups tossed the box on the ground when they delivered so. I'll be calling and complaining Monday, luckily I don't have to drive anywhere over 60 for long periods of time cause it doesn't vibrate at intown speeds..
