I had a momentary lapse in sanity this weekend while camping in Prescott, AZ. I forgot that my G is not a 4x4 and took it a few miles on a dirt forest service road that I though would take me to Linx Lake.

One of the numerous times I bottomed out the car on the many giant rocks and logs I shredded the driverside flexable part of my new TOPSPEED Y pipe. The + is the exhaust is now much louder. The - is the car feels slower.

Should I replace it? or wait until I destroy the other side?

BYW rearwheel drive and 306 hp does great off road!!! Couple guys were back there in Jeeps and very surpised to see a G35 4 wheel drifting past in the dirt :dblthumb:

When we got home my 6 yo helped wash, clay bar and wax the G. He was so into the cleaning he climbed into the trunk with the shop vac. I did what any dad would do and closed the trunk on him

"My finger just got slammed in a door and is hanging on by some skin, should I wait until the next time I slam another finger to go to the ER?" :slap:

This just redeemed you back into good standing! I can't wait to do that to my son.

Get the thing replaced and keep your SPORTS Sedan on pavement please. Your exhaust can't scavenge properly if there's a leak. Which leads to reduced exhaust stroke efficiency. Which leads to reduced torque (engine can't combust already combusted gas.) O2 readings can go off, AFR gets tweaked...lots of POTENTIAL problems.

This is not the first time the G has been off road but this "road" was very poor condition and ended up going no where.

This was my 6yo first time camping we had a blast. The car got very very dirty. My other car is a Sequoia I probably should have taken it but then I would have missed the exciting drive to and from in the G.

Picture from my blackberry of the sun setting at Linx Lake, this is less then 2 hours away from Phoenix AZ

PLEASE do not move to AZ it is awful here :ohno:

Contact the manufacturer and tell them what happened. See if there is any way for them to repair or replace it.

Oh...yeah.. Go see if you can fix it then. My rear hanger broke off and took a piece of my exhaust pipe with it, the local shop took care of that in 15 mins :D

Then again, it wasn't flex material...

Carfax will not list cars I have owned.

I think when I get another daily driver I will lift the G and put 28" rims on it, something like this but a G sedan!
