Just picked up my 3.5 Coupe on saturday and was wonder if anyone has actually tried the Weapon R Secret Weapon intake. I would like to have one of the two at my house for Christmas. From what i heard on youtube clips, I think the Weapon R sounds better at least IMO. Maybe it the cameras. Has anyone heard both in person?

Never heard the WR on the Altima, but I did hear it on a Civic and didn't really like it. It was too loud and obnoxious sounding! But then again, you can't compare a 1.6L with a 3.5

Amen! I'd go with Injen just my $.02

I'd go with the Injen. The Weapon-R used a foam filter that is not up to par IMO.

+1 for Injen. You can find videos of what it sounds like on YouTube.

Think of Weapon R as the Target of furniture stores. You can pay a lot for something that is made of cheap materials, but pay a little more at a real furniture store and get something that is nice. INjen >> Weapon R.

Rule of thumb: Any company with the letter "R" after its name is the Target brand of auto parts.

And not to mention the WR does not come with a heat shield like the INJEN does.

Just get the Injen, I've heard some guys have had to do some modding and cutting after they got the WR. Injen's price is dropping alot too its down to $245 now.

Heat shield is a nice plus since the intake can suck in less hot engine air.

I was actually thinking of running some kind of piping from my foglight cutout to the intake to get cooler air in there. I guess some sort of homemade cold-air intake set-up. Just thought about it last night but never got around to looking in my bay. I'll probably try it out this weekend if there's enough space in there. Maybe use some sort of air duct insulation like this: http://www.buyhardwaresupplies...48528

If there's enough room to run maybe 3"-4" flexible piping, I'll do it and post pics. At least this way I wouldn't have to worry about rain getting into my motor. I'll probably use a very fine mesh screen to keep larger parts of water from entering through the cutout.

Go to Jeg's and search for "duct" and you'll come up with some flexible stuff in all kinds of diameters.
