injen rubbing problem

any one have problem with their intake pipe rubbing against the hood ? i found the black liner is actually rubbing on it and leaves a mark on my pipe ... thx

ROFL then just clean it off. If you can't lower it any lower, then it's not aproblem rubbing on the rubber. Its not like the rubber will break the intake. UNLESS it makes some short of loud vibration, then you should try and lower it. I don't have one yet, so I personally can't say much.

the black marks may come off, but your intake will be scarred. make sure the vacuum lines that are underneath the injen intake are completely flat, or reroute them altogether.

yea it sucks, i noticed mine the other week when working on the car. The only thing I can even think of is to wrap the 2 corners it's rubbing on with reflective insulated piping adhesive (from home depot). It doesn't look too great, but it saves the intake a little. My friend wrapped his whole cold air intake w/ that stuff in hopes of getting the temperature of the intake down a few degrees (from some article he read).

other than that, I don't think the injen intake wants to go any lower.

or you could put adhesive or padding on the underhood.

I still have to fix mine, but the intakes already scarred :(.
