Hey all. I have a question for you. I had an injen intake on my 2002 maxima which was a vq35de. I have an option to get one for free for my m35x but its not the one that goes into the fender well. I've read up and a lot of people have negative responses to it, but seem to be from the M45 because the intake tubing is different size. Is it beneficial at all over stock. If it is i'll go for it, but if not then i'll keep my stock intake with K&N filter.

In my opinion, intakes are simply for vroooom sound. I think gains are negligible. I question those people that claim a "noticeable" difference in 3-5 hp.

I don't like the way Injen looks (personal preference). I would rather get black powder coated fujita since I like the way it looks.

If you don't care for the whoosh or vroom sound from your engine, just leave your intake alone. I have intakes on 2 of my Infinitis (09 G37 and 06 FX35) and the only thing I noticed was the vroom. On my FX35, I even think I lost low end power by introducing an intake and a plenum spacer, but it sounds bad a**! :spitout:

I know the intakes make the engine louder. I help come up with the GAB mod on the max. I did a dyno showing the injen did get a few hp increase. not much though. I just didnt know if there was an actual performace hit that I keep reading about but it seems to be from M45 on their V8s. I've got a lot of vrooms sound from my supercharged G37.

I used to play a lot when I was in college when SC came out. I seem to lack the time to play SC2 nowadays with too many things going on.
