Hey guys,

Not to seem like I am repeating another thread but I did some checking and couldn't find anything. So when I first installed my intake there were no issues. Everything was working fine. No weird sounds or anything like that, only good ones . But after a week or so the intake seems to be making a rattling noise when you take it over 4500 rpm... Only when you give it more than 1/2 throttle so I am wondering if perhaps something has come lose? Or if you guys can think of anything that would be causing this. I am no mechanic however I am not an idiot. There is one way the intake can go in really, so that is not the issue. Also since it worked fine for a week which is why I don't think it was installed wrong.

Any ideas?

Side Note: I removed the intake box that sat behind the front bumper since it would have just caused a restriction of air flow. So I know that is not causing the rattling.

I'd say the heat shield is the likely culprit. It was a pretty close fit for me, and I ended up just taking it off - but it wasn't due to rattling.

I think it is the heat shield. I re-tightened everything and it stopped making it. Last night it also did not make any noise. Now this morning it made it the first time I revved up to get onto the highway, then it stopped. So I think I may have to remove the heat shield or think of something to put underneath the heat shield to stop the vibration.

Thanks beeristasty
