Love the injen cold air intake. Sound, bit of power, looks and gas milege...etc. Here's the test result.ILikeMy240sx wrote:that funnel intake is there to creat less turbulence inside the air filter. Creates more smooth flow of air.
There was a filter test done by some japanese website. They did a dyno and tested how efficient the filtration was. Sucking in dirt through the filter using a vacuum I think.
Apexi was the cleanest and provided the most increase WHP.
Then it looks like I just can swap Injen filter with Apexi filter, right?Driftless240 wrote:My buddy got this filter on his Gs-T before he sold her to get his 240. He loved it. He says there was a noticeable difference from his Stock Injen. The funnel design to route air in, resists the amount of "turbulance" inside the funnel and the routed air just enters and goes. I will purchase one once INjen gets here.
I have a K&N now. I like it, but I heard that they have a tendency to gum-up engines. Is that only if they're not cleaned properly or left to dry long enough?BarnDog296 wrote:Man, i never loved an air filter like my old K&N i would go with them, they have always been my favorite, but I have also wondered about this "funnel" intake.
Does anyone know about the Funnel intakes?
Ive run K&N filters on every vehicle ive owned and have never had any gumming problems of any kind. Just got a k&n FIPK for the 240 and it fits up nice.Slipstream wrote:

Yeah I heard that too, aboot a year ago. From what I was told, the problems were caused by the liquid found in the K&N cleaning kit, the red one. That stuff would get on the MAF and gum it up. I believe I was told that GM had a bulletin out describing the cause and effect.Slipstream wrote:I have a K&N now. I like it, but I heard that they have a tendency to gum-up engines. I saw that same article. That's why I bought my Apex'i.~4N~ wrote:I have the Apexi because I saw that test page where it came out on top.
the gumbin up is the owner cleaning the filter and adding to much airfilter oil to the element, then the airfilter oil gets sucked thru on to the afm hot wire and cause it to read wrong. solution, dont gobb the air filter up w a/f oil.Slipstream wrote:
