injectors ticking?

I was wondering if anyone else has continuos ticking noise which seems to be coming from the injectors..

Also knocking noises coming from the front of the engine.. i'm thinking chain guides since i did not remove them when i changed the oil pump..

if anyone had similar experiences what did you do to cure the problem if it is a problem or if its normal.. the knocking and ticking noise is really noticeable only when the hood is opened..

The injectors are supposed to tick. Thats the sound of them firing.

Hah - to be honest I was worried about the same thing. Off topic, but on the topic of Injectors.

The SR20 owner before me told me that the engine had larger injectors inside of them. He's not sure what kind, type, or size (the engine was from a clip) - but he does know that they are RED in color. Anyone have possible ideas on what they are.

Your injectors will always tick. Is the other sound on cold start or all the time? Reason for asking is because mine sounds like a knock at cold start where the timing chain is. It usually las for about 2sec the it goes away.

Red's are supposed to be 550 cc

yeah my red top does the same thing, kinda freeked me out but something in the back of my head was telling me i think its supposed to tick, their injectors duh!! but didnt think all injectors do that ticking noise. what do i know its my first sr motor. when i first got the car running i never heard that tick but i was running it with just the down pipe so it was really loud! so now that i got the exhaust done i can hear it clearly.

Knock like piston knock?Is it RPM dependent? LIke only certain RPMs or all the time?Does the engine smoke out the exhaust?Is it a loud knock or soft?

it idles at 900 rpm and the knock is a soft knock ... i can't hear it while driving or reving...only when the hood is open... in cold climate it does smoke alittle ( white) but i believe thats normal and goes away after it warms up... i don't knoe what piston knock sounds like, but it is coming from the front of the engine ...... car runs fine and boost fine no oil loss and radiator fluid is at level .
