it seems my 1ts and 3rd injectors are screwed

i put $30 of 93 gas in my 90' 240(KA24E), and it put me in between 3/4 and fulli reset my mile dial thingy to 000.0 then i notice im losing gas, i have done about 66 miles since then and im not speeding

last night i saw i had something under my fuel rail/injectors so since i didn't have good light, i waited till morning to do it

i have about a hair under half a tank....so i checked my injector area with the good lighting and saw i had gas some gas under the injectors

so i cleaned it and then went to work hoping it wasn't anything bad, just something i haven't seen before

so i got to work and saw it was there again, so i got a paper towel and got it up and it smelled of gas

would this be my injectors? i haven't been doing in harsh driving or anything

like a friend told me not to go over 3rd gear, since i don't need the engine heating up too much

this is my only ride, so i still need to drive it

some one please help me

From the discription it sounds like leaky injectors and the o-rings are now done, it happends. It might also be leaking from the rail. As far as not upshifting just keep the rpms low and you will be fine if you are that worried.

Go to Autozone and get your set 4 sets of injector repair kits. They come come in boxes. Each box has all the rubber rings you need to replace on one injector.

It's also a very straight forward and easy fix on the KAE since its a top fed rail. Just make sure when you unplug the fuel lines which you shouldn't have to if you unpressurized the fuel system.

But just in case you do make sure you put them on the correct way.

well its basically fixed nowwe put 3 different o-rings in itthen we settled on some a\c o-rings and they work

i need to get some fat rings since the injectors i have are small at the top compared to the fuel rail hole

so we're currently using 2 o-rings per injector until i find the fatties

I wish mine would solve this easily, im now no injector set #4 and o ring set #8 and fuel rail #2 and sob still leaks lol

16mpg for 3 years is sad, but the fact it hasn't caught on fire (yet *knock on wood*) sure is impressive...if only the scca would let it pass tech

I can't decide if its something wrong with the fuel rail that it loses its grasp on the o rings over time (expands, scratches ect) or the injectors just dont sit right after they've expanded over the years or what, but something is messed up with it. Could even be the fuel rail/manifold are warping over time.

Ive never found an (afordable) replacement fuel rail though, and im not sure how to go about finding an oversized o ring

I hope when you guys are replacing O rings that you a lubricating them with some kind of oil or vasaline. Besides avaiding tears and scratches in the o rings, it might actually keep the o rings pliable over time a more resistant to drying out.
