Probably both, does your car stay at idle? Check the spark plug also and down the cyclinder to see if its wet

Thats odd, usually it''ll turn off, but take out the coilpack that you said nothing happens to it when you take it out and check for resistance between the 2 prongs. Its in the FSM page "EC-202" also check the resistance on the fuel injector.

I hate to sound like a pesimist, but you could also potentially have cracked or melted a ringland....

what are other symptoms of a bad ringland ????

Get a compression tester and test compression. Also grab a shop rag, pull your whole fuel rail, and crank it a couple times to see if your injectors are spraying.

Than you need to replace the injectors. But since you unplugged them at idle and you said the third one had no affect than your third one is bad, try replacing that.

ugh, reminds me of when my **** was running on just 2 cylinders. Easy way to see if its the injector, or coil pack, just switch them out with ones you know are working. IE, if its the third that is not working, take the injectors out of 2 n 3 and swap em. If nothing happens, do the same with the coil packs. If nothing changes, its obviously a different issue. OR if the problem stays with the injector or coil pack into the 2nd cylinder and the third is fine, really obvious its an injector or coil pack issue.

Edit: about what duffman1278 just said above me...just because its not firing off in that cyl, doesn't automatically mean its the injector. could still very well be the coil pack. just do the diagnostic run thru i explained to narrow it down more.

....and if they are good, I would be doing the compression test for sure.

My car idled fine, sounded good, and drove just fine (like 35 miles) on an engine that had melted the side of a piston off. Obviously down on power, but idling it was good. I changed sparkplugs, swapped packs, and swapped injectors all on the side of the road....when I got home I everything off of it, took th emotor mount, and found my issue.....

If you pull the whole fuel rail and only your 3rd injector isn't firing, check your wiring harness and make sure that it got wired correctly. When I had my wiring harness done, they incorrectly wired my #3 injector. It got clipped and reconnected to the wrong grn/black wire so I just clipped it again and resoldered to the correct grn/blk wire. Just one more thing for you to ponder;)

yeah ! so before i swapped the injectors , i swapped the coils so i moved the 3 coil to the first coil started the car and started to unplug the injectors now the first one did nothing and the third one reacted like the others...

that must mean the coil is BAD ! now i need coils !

yet to do the compression test , what should it be rated at ??

now wasn't that better/cheaper/faster than just going out and buying a new injector?

I believe compression should be like 145-160 i think. do a search and you'll find it quick.
