Do injectors wear slowly and sap performance or do they just work "as new" until they fail?

With 94k miles, will most Q's see performance and driveablility improvement with new injectors?

Injectors can last 300,000 miles plus depending on the fuel you use thru them.

The trick is to use 2-3 applications of BG44k if the performance idle improves you know the injectors and or the intake valve backs were dirty.

What is the maximum fuel pressure the injectors hold back?

I'd like to check them for leaks and also since I broke many of the plastic retaining fingers on them, I'd like to make sure the injectors aren't going to move when under pressure.

I don't have a way of doing a liquid pressure test, but i could easily do an air pressure test with my compressor. Is there any reason 30 or 40 psi of air will do any damage to fuel injectors?

Air pressure won't tell you anything.......viscosity of fluids.

The max normal WOT pressure is 43.4 psi vs idle 34 psi. Always replace the orings. Buy a fuel presssure gauge.

Normally they won't leak till >80 psi.

Right now I'm less concerned about leakage and more concerned that the injector will be pushed into the intake since those plastic fingers broke off.
