Alright, maybe this is normal. I don't believe so, but my engine misfires through its own vibration (yes I need new mounts) and it misfires when I touch any part of the injector or the wiring leading to it.

I believe (through my limited knowledge base) that what ever is causing this is also the reason why I have to try to start my car 3-4 times before it actually starts, but I am not sure.

I don't mean to present two problems in one post, but if any one can shine light on this that would be great. I'm really in the dark and have no idea how I would diagnose or fix this.

Thank you guys and gals.

use some common sense and check to make sure the injectors are plugged in, or if their wires are shorted, frayed, etc.

...

The injectors are plugged in.

Each injector is firing (I can feel the tick coming from each injector)

The shroud around the wires has lost the battle to the elements and is cracked, leading the end connectors exposed to the elements, but the actual wires are not. I was assured here that this is normal.

Crappy cell pic if injector wires coming soon.

I accept it as just a case of old age. I also have a 90 with the SOHC, and if I move any of the wiring, the idle is affected. I am going to go to the dealership sometime this week and see if a new wiring harness is still available and if so how much it will cost. I cant imagine it being worth it though.

I already called them... $500 bucks here in SD at Mossy Nissan.

Not worth it yet...

DAMN!!!!I actually paid $500 for the car!I was tallying my receipts and invoices, and I am in to her for just over $9K. That is including a full rebuild of the SOHC.Still, I kind of like this motor, so maybe I may buy the harness anyway. We will see.

How are the connectors? Can you unplug them easily or are they toasted? If its the connectors just go to the junkyard and cut them off another kae. I had a similar problem when i bought my 240. I could not touch the wiring on the injectors because the engine would shake horribly and the car would run poorly The wiring was in good shape too but they were also revealed. I found and old nissan minivan with a kae and for $6 bux got all 4 connectors with some of the wiring attached, still in good shape. Cut off the old ones...soldered in the the ones from the junkyard and problem fixed.

Just take the plugs off and clean the conections. Then, slightly (very slightly) bend in the conections on the plug so it grabs the injector. I did this and so far, no problems.
