Ok, well the problem is that Ive melted about 7 370cc fuel injectors with my s13 sr20det. I need to know if its possibly the wiring or a fact its the wiring... Ive heard from numerous people that it could need a valve job, my head machined. But then a lot of people are telling me its the wiring...

Here are some things you might wanna know... The very tip of the spark plugs are all white. Its melting the O-rings and the little plastic spacers right above the O-rings. Its almost always the second cylinder.

I don't know what to do and Ive been trying to figure this out for a while now...

I just want my car back on the road so I can get myself to work!!! >

The mechanical aspect of the valves opening and closing shouldn't affect the life span and durability of the injectors. So I'm voting for a possible short in one of the injectors' wiring that's causing them to go bad.

What I would consider doing is this: Disconnect the harness plug for the injector and if you have a noid light you can plug it into the injector plug and check to see if it's staying on constantly or if it's pulsing like it should be. If you don't have a noid light, you can do a similar test with a test light, it's just a bit more awkward.

Other than that, you can test to see if the voltage is too high, which i highly doubt as their optimal range is 11-14v

EDIT: See you got a ninja edit in there!

Only bad timing or a completely busted intake valve should cause backfiring through an intake runner like that. Do a compression test on that cylinder to see if it's holding decent compression.
