Hey all,I noticed something when I got home last night. Three of my injectors are covered with fuel. The car has been running quite rich lateley and I was planning on putting it up in the air on saturday. Its a 90 KA24e. Here are some images that I took. Also I noticed a little puddle of oil between the #1 and #2 injectors (from the front). Im not sure if that is just old buildup that has been broken down by the fuel, because I dont see any leaks around the head. It also looks like there is fuel all over the intake manifold. Good thing those arent on the exhaust side!

I also noticed that the boot for injector 2 was broken. Could that cause any issues?

Anybody see this before? Im hoping it's just o-rings.

Thanks,Matt

Well, I had an opportunity to check out the injectors with the car running. Looks like the o-rings to me. #1 injector is pumping fuel out around the fuel rail. I didnt see any of the other injectors leaking. Im just going to replace all of them. Autozone/Advance/NAPA which is the best choice for getting the o-ring kits. I havent been happy with a lot of Autozone parts in the past.

Ill just add this to the AIV removal, Z32 fuel filter, and oil change that Im doing on Saturday. Have a rattle too, hopin its only a heat shield, but with my luck lately, its prolly the top chain guide.

By the way, thanks for the archives here, I have been lurking in the forums for about 4 months now, and normally find my answers by searching. Pro-kit springs, KYB shocks, 300z brakes and body and paint this winter, will have lots of pics. Maybe Ill give back by doing a step by step on one or more of them...

yeah, it's definitely just your Orings. an injector leak won't leak fuel outwardly unless your injector casing is cracked or something.

Ordered the kits from Advance Auto.1990 KA24e Part Number:(Beck/Arnley) 1580372

That is for the Seal Kit, not just the one O-Ring.

Hope that helps someone else.

How about that second boot being broken? Is that going to cause issues?

mine have been like that for a while now...hasnt caused any problems. While your at it, take the wire connectors off and clean the crap outta the terminals...they have a habit of corroding. Also, very carefully examine the o-rings, i know for a fact that the rings from autozone and napa say for ka24e, but don't fit, i had to steal mine from a head rebuild kit that we didn't need them in.

O-rings fit beautifully. Got the oil changed, Fairlady fuel filter, AIV removed, orings changed today. Talk about night and day difference. Idle is rock-steady. Only issue I had was getting all four injectors back in. had everything bolted together and started it up. Loud screeching sound, engine die. Fuel all over intake side, so I watched the replaced injector - no leak. look back to the #4. I never got it in and it was spraying all over. heh. oops. Anyways, got that fixed, runs great.
