Does anyone know if there is a certain way to remove fuel injectors. I have have done it before with a pair of channel locks but it messed up the top of the injector pretty bad, I didn't care however because it was shot anyway. I had another one go out on me and instead gettin screwed out of another $150 I found a full plenum with throttle body, injectors, and fuel rail for $75. Anyway I want to remove the injectors without messing them up since they are still good and will be using them.

take off fuel rail, remove them by hand, you may have to twist them back and forth to get them out

Yes, definitely take the fuel rail off--then clamp the mounting bracket in a vice--then spray wd40 or some other lubricant after prying the plastic part of the injector that sits flush with the injector housing up--I used channel locks to take them out--but it takes a lot of effort. It's not nearly as easy as it sounds--you need to use a LOT of force to pry those suckers out--Because I knew i wouldn't need the injectors already in my fuel rail, I just ended up tapping them out with a drill bit the same size as the nozzle--popped right out, but destroyed the pintle caps (again, I didn't care, I wont need them again).

If you don't need the injector,, I suggest tapping them out. If you must use channel locks or whatever to take them out, be very careful when you're applying force, as the fuel rail WILL bend--it happened to me--good thing AceInHole lives right near me and had an extra rail lying around :)

i kept my fuel rail on the engine. twist them arounda bit to loosen them up first. then use a flat head screwdriver under the plug to pry them up a bit then use vise grips and they should pop right out. try some wd-40 like markemark said seems like a good idea

you need to tap them out alittle from the bottom first, use a screw driver and a rag, fold the rag over the end of the screw driver. then position the screwdriver dead center of the injector. use a rubber mallet and give it a few strong but gentle hits. then try pulling them out from the top.

you need to hit em from the bottom to break the seal usually, then they should pull out from the top. just be careful and dont break the plastic/ceramic part on the bottom around the spray nozzles (ie dont let any pressure get applied to it)

yea if you do a search quite a few threads come up.

my friend swapped a det into his sentra, and the only way we could move the injectors to another rail was by hitting them from the bottom first. Im just speaking from my experience, ive never done it on a KA.

Use a screwdriver underneath the fuel injector plug. A thoughtfull Nissan engineer left you a little notch that you can pry against. It will not ruin your injector as long as you are careful. Just be warned, the injector has a tendency to fly off as you pry it out. It will fly half way across the garage, and your fist will ram into the closest sharp metal flange. This way you take out your injector and bloody your fist, all in one smooth move.;)

That sounds way better than channel locks or a hammer, I'll give it a try.
