injector question

Who is familiar with the plastic yellow retainer at the bottom of the redtop injectors? Im changing the o-rings out and the plastic retainers are so brittle they are practically falling out. Nissan says they dont sell these seperate from the injectors. How important are these if they are not put back on. I will be upgrading to 550s but not yet. Another thing is no matter how hard I push on the bottom of the injectors they will not push out. I dont want to break them or Im screwed. I have the top metal cap off and they wont budge. And the injectors spin around. I searched and found nothing on these plastic fu(kers. Very frustrating.......

I got mine out with a large pair of plyers. Just grab from the top plastic squared part and tug really hard.
