Im having a problem with my injectors not opening. I've got power to the injector harness but they wont pulse (did the noid light test). Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've read up on this a little and talked to Ricky from rawbrokerage. Problem seems to be the injector driver in the ecu is fried. So unless anyone else has any suggestions, i guess i need a new ecu :frown:

Ricky I think may be right, however:

Try taking out cas from cam and spinning the drive with IGN on. It should pulse the injectors. Injectors open when grounded, something to check as well.

i'll try that, but i figured that since they wont pulse with the motor turning over they wouldnt pulse if i tried that since the coils are getting spark fine.

The injectors still didnt click when i turned the cas by hand but i still got spark. Wouldn't the cas be good if the coils are getting spark? Id try another cas if i could but i live in BFE and no one even close to here has any sort of RB swapped car.

its probably your ecu, your spark plugs wouldnt fire if the cas was bad.

who did your wiring?

i hate it when people just blame the ECU without actually troubleshooting.

I did the wiring using the DVD from drifting.com and the diagrams on here. I've went over the wiring twice and dont see anything wrong with it. not to mention i dont think you even mess with the injector harness at all while wiring besides splicing it to provide power(which im getting the constant power to the harness).

Sounds like bad ECU driver to me. +1 to Bluefire's comment.

On that note, I have an ECU that I'm trying to clean out of my basement. Check page 2 of the classifieds thread. :gapteeth:

Ok so I tried the new ecu, thanks Darius!, but I'm still having the same problem. Is it possible for the CAS to be bad even though I'm getting spark fine?

1) Is your fuel pump priming when you turn the key on?

2) Have you verified that the wiring from the injector harness (grounds) is continuous from the injector plugs to the ECU plug? If not, verify each of those to make sure there isn't a fluke break in your wiring harness.

Yes the pump primes when i turn the key.

I have not checked that yet. When i looked over the harness again i traced back all the injector grounds up to the ecu plug and i didnt see anything wrong but i will def go check all those today.

I haven't seen the inside of a CAS but does it have 2 different sensors inside or register 2 different signals for spark and fuel? I dont know if its possible for the part that signals/reads when to fire the injectors is bad if that makes any sense?

Are you getting fuel to the rail/filter?

Are you getting power to the injector? Are you getting continuity to the ground?

If you are getting power to the injector, does the injector fire if you manually ground it?

yes fuel to the rail and the lines are on the correct way.

yes im getting the constant 12v to the injector harness. im not getting the ground pulse.

yes they click when i manually ground them myself.

Im seriously lost as to what it could be unless its a weird cas problem. Im going out now to check for continuity for the injector grounds.

Thanks to ricky and dan at rawbrokerage for letting me borrow a spare ecu and cas to try on my car. finally found my problem. For some wierd reason all of my injectors are stuck/not working and my injector harness works when you wiggle it? sounds weird i know, but i wiggled my injector harness around and it activates the noid light and if i plug in my friend's sr20 injectors they click?

Sounds like your injectors might be clogged or went bad like mine did. Or maybe loose wire?

As for the loose wire, i think there's a short in my injector harness somewhere. When i tried the sr20 injector, if i wiggled the harness around the injector would work. When i tried wiggling it around with all the rb injectors, i still got nothing. So im thinking its a combination of a bad harness and 6? bad/clogged injectors.

Did your engine sit for a long time before you tried to start it? I've found that rb injectors clog very easily.

Im guessing its been sitting for quite awhile then. It was a motorset i bought and just finally completed swapping it in.

Thanks to the guys from rawbrokerage, i was able to borrow a 3rd ecu, CAS, injector harness, and fuel injectors. Finally got the motor to start and idle's really nice. One small problem... now my turbo is pouring out oil from both sides. Starting to get really disappointed with my rb.

Suck man!

At least you got it to start. I feel your pain. My college roommate took on a SR20 swap project, and it was one of those one headache after another type of deals. 3 years later, though...we got it running the way it should. Your project will get there.

And, he even had a similar oil problem like you just mentioned. Started the car, sounded great...then shut off. MASSIVE puddle of oil under the car. Missing sensor.

If you think the injectors are just stuck and the coils are fine, they probably just need a good cleaning. We can help you out with that. Just shoot me a PM.

yeah the turbo was def gone so i got another one from the guys at Rawbrokerage. Amazing guys that have helped so much with this swap and all my problems.

As for the injectors, i dont know if they're any good. I ohmed them out and only got .3 to .8 on all of them. The good injectors i picked up were around 11.7 so i think those coils are bad in my original set.
