Hey guys,I finally got my new 240 to RUN, but it has some problems that I'm hoping someone could offer up some advice about. It's a rebuilt KA24DE.First off, it does run. And it ran well for 3 miles as I took it for a baby test drive, the only problem was that it was idling at about 2000 rpms. So I parked it for the night to figure out that problem. The next day I came out, started my car, let it idle for about 2 minutes, then turned it off and connected the timing light because it seems the timing might be slightly off. After I did that, I started it again and white smoke just started billowing out the exhaust. So, what do I do? I assume that my head gasket is blown and I freak out a little.

Next, I ran the car a tiny bit with the radiator cap open to watch the water flowing. It had no bubbles and no oil in it.Then I drained out the oil. It was not all gross and milky. But what was it? It was almost nothing but gasoline. Not freaking good. There was so much gasoline in my oil that it almost had the viscosity of water. So I changed the oil and the oil filter.

So that makes my friends think that it's just because my new piston rings haven't sealed yet, so I am getting gas into my oil. But why so much freaking gas? Why is my exhaust so incredibly white and very much gas scented?

Taking out the first spark plug, that cylinder is FULL of gas while the other ones have a normal amount of gas in them. So it seems that the first injector has a problem. Checking the ECU, however, I only get codes 14 and 34. Those are for speed sensor (cuz mine broke) and knock sensor (because mine wasn't attached, and we fixed that). Can't test the O2 sensor because getting to that mode on the diagnosis requires me getting my car warm and I don't want to do that with sooo much gas flushing the cylinder. I'd rather not burn up my new engine.Playing with the injector itself, it clicks. And I do believe that we have even put in a different injector and still had the same problem, but we did that awhile ago. My friends tried to test the injector resistance and to see if the wiring was giving a pulsing signal and all that jazz. I don't remember the outcome of all of that because I had to leave in a hurry, but I will ask them again.

So any suggestions? It's been suggested that it could be that my first injector is grounding itself out. We thought maybe the injector was stuck open, but since it 'clicks' during cranking maybe it has the capability to open and close. Is there anything else I should check? Could it also be that my fuel rail is bent or kinked and therefore the number one injector is getting too much pressure or something? I don't know how that all works, I'm just shooting in the dark. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!Angela

you should visually inspect if your #1 injector is leaking. to do that turn the key on and then pull off the fuel rail with the injectors still in..then unplug your spark plug wires and start cranking the engine..now you can see if injector #1 is stuck open..also how do your spark plugs look? is the first one a lot blacker than the others? and you should also do a compression test..this will rule out whether or not it is a bad HG.
