after reading about 3 million posts on injectors, im asking for opinions. i want to do a cheap turbo setup for my 92 kade. im not looking to go crazy, with hp levels, im just looking to run the max stock block boost level of ~8lbs. (or less even )i already have some parts collected for this build, i have a t28 turbo and collector off my rb25det, (yes i have a rb s1 sitting around) i figured i could get a cheap ebay mani and maybe use the rb downpipe, if it fits. i also have a small front mount IC .

after reading a million pages on injectorsive concluded that the RB injectors should fit and work properly with the ka. my friend also has a set of 450cc DSM injectors i can have for free.

would it be better to run the 370cc injectors out of the RB, or would it be better to use the DSM ones with a top feed rail and wire in resistors?

since im not using any sort of AFC i figured the 370cc injectors would be better and would be a direct bolt in? a top feed fuel rail is only $40, but is the extra 80ccs necessary?

so i figure all ill have to buy is intercooler piping , a manual boost controller(or build one) and a exhaust manifold. possibally a sr downpipe, if the rb down pipe doesnt fit. or maybe ill just fab one myself.

what do all of you guys think?

It's a 100cc extra, stock KA is 270cc. And Im wondering how are you trying to compensate for that?

I mean if you ran E85 then yeah you'd be fine since, E85 needs 30% extra fuel to run, and thats about the ball park.

But other then that you need at least a safc or something. Other wise I smell a failed turbo set up in your future .

Do it right and do it once homester ...

sorry i was talking about the dsm injectors vs the rb ones...450- 370= 80(dsm inj- rb inj)= 80

anyways yeah for some stupid reason i must have thought that i could just run it w/o a afc. i dunno lack of sleep i guess...

I'd use the RB injectors. It just seems easier. And the 370's are good for almost 250whp. YOu wont be close to that with a T28.

Is that the RB25's stock T28? Do you know its specs??

ok... after reading this rather complex and enlightening thread...zerothread?id=254146.... im still sort of confused- i had read somewhere that someone was using sr 370s with a n60 maf and it ran fine. (basicaly what gtr pryde said ) then someone mentioned vq maf. ive also been told to use a z32 maf off a 300zxttlike i said i only want to boost the car a little bit, while i save the rest of the money needed for the rb swap itself. (all of the little things i need add up to alot)

... sooo can u run the 370s with a diffrent maf? and if so , which one?

If you use a different MAF you need a SAFC or ECU Rom Tune. If you want supercheap then just use a FMU.

Without looking at that thread im pretty sure i know which one it is. Some guy heard that basicaly with a n60 maf and 370 cc injectors, the stock ecu handles the upgrades like its running stock. Theory is, bigger maf and bigger injectors balance eachother out through the ecu...

It kinda sounds like a load of HS to me, but im not really sure.

The 370cc injectors from a SR or w/e will be perrfect for your ride. With that little boost you can run a used SAFC2 and be done with it. Retard the base timing like 1 degree or so and your strait. You might not even need a timing retard, 7-8 is borderline. I would just do it anyway to be on the safe side.

Also, your stock maf can handle a t28 at that level of boost i beleive. Youd have a nice cheap fast spooling turbod 240.
