my #3cyl quit firing the other night. the coil tested good and so was the plug. when testing the inj for omhs, i couldnt even get a reading on it after mutipule tries.

so i grabbed 3 injectors from a 90 z32(2 blue-1 black) and 2 from a 94 j30(both have matching tops but different bodies). my original injs are black.

i threw the best condition blue inj in and fired it up. still not firing and now i have unburned gas coming from that side exhaust, making my hand damp / gas smelling and puffing clearish smoke with revs.

btw i did notice my injector hat isnt tightened flush(its getting dark outside), tried to tighten it more and the screws stripped :(. so it looks like ill be pulling the plenum and replacing the screws with bolts.
so is my not fully seated inj causing the flood issue, which is causing the cyl to not fire? or is my injector working and i have no spark now? any ideas guys?

Yes, if the injector is not fully seated and flooding the cylinder, you will not get a spark at all. Too much fuel and not enough air will not create a spark, fouling the plug.

Injector could also be stuck open, just a thought. I would suggest to either clean the injectors or just upgrade to the newer style injectors if you do not have them already.
