So i did my typical search in our stickied items and even searched for 2 days...

so heres my situation

just bought a S15 turbo brand new from dealer for crack head price...
with it i picked up (pictures later)

-4x exhaust manifold gasket (header to head)
turbo gaskets
-rear turbo housing 5 bolt gasket
-turbo to manifold 4 bolt gasket
-2 bolt intake gasket-3 bolt gasket
-3 bolt gasket for elbow to down pipe
-2 bolt gasket for downpipe to cat
-2 bolt oil return gasket
-2 lock clips for turbo to manifold bolts
-9x lock nuts

^ wondering if i missed anything...

questions:
how do you clock the turbo for the CA...?ive never seen it done and every place i visited had expired pictures

what oil return pipe do you use for the new turbo? s15?

-------Part 2---------

so with the turbo upgrade im getting the following:
-N60 maf (should be good enough right?)
-Recirc BOV
-HKS waste gate actuator
-555cc injectors
-HKS boost controller
-SS lines

questions:

N60 maf, should be good enough right?

BOV, do i even need it? gonna max out at 1.0 bar ?

555cc, to big?

sslines, do i still need the restrictor?

pretty much i wanna only push that much to keep it safe and healthy for long period fo fun...can i go for a bit more power, maybe, but i dont need it...i rather stay safe within the boost parameters of the turbo than be tryin to maxing it out...

------part 3------

Intake manifold

pretty much i need to know a few things

what do i need to remove to get the fuel rail off?

i need to install injectors and nismo FPR

also i want to do the bore out for the KAe TB, what are the proper steps to removing the intake manifold? and what gaskets do i need to replace...?

pretty much im tryin to do everything right the first time round...

im nearly complete with getting all my drivetrain BS done...so i need to get everything else out of the way, get tuned and go (ive got NIStune to get it done)...

any and all help/suggestions/pictures of installs or see anything i missed, is greatly appreciated...

if anything im more than happy to put a How to together for everything once im done...

Before it's installed I would have a bung welded on the downpipe for a wideband o2 sensor when you get it tuned.

yes

BOV, do i even need it? gonna max out at 1.0 bar ?

There are high HP cars that dont use them, I would though.

555cc, to big?

No, those are properly sized for you but you need an SAFC or retune/Nistune.

sslines, do i still need the restrictor?

Yes, I dont think SS lines have a restrictor built in.

I have a Stanza KA throttle body....and I had to bore out the intake manifold...not the throttle body. Use a dremel and a carbide cutting bit.
Gaskets; theres a TB gasket, upper mani gasket (mani to butterflies), and lower mani gasket (butterflies to head).

thank you...greatly appreciated...i want to get this thing done already...

as far as the throttle body, i know, i guess i didnt phrase it right, pretty much since i want to upgrade the injectors, i want to bore the intake manifold for the kae TB... :gapteeth:

and now i know what gaskets to order...

i have nistune and a o2 already...so once this is done...its all about tunning it...cant wait...i might actually consider doing a build thread...but my cars upgrades have been primaraly about the chassis, nto the motor, motor upgrades are barely starting... :lolling:

Here's a quick tip, when putting your throttle body back together (putting the flapper door back in), dont use the regular screws that hold it in place, goto Home Depot or Lowes and buy some set screws with a hex/torx end and you can geat rid of the bulky head on the screws....just make sure the threads arent too long.

Looks like this:

ill consider it..i think im also goign to replace the hoses with some silicone hoses aswell since the manifold is coming off...it be the easiest time to do it... :chuckle:

anyone have any run ins with ASI Performance hoses...? OEM wont be available for another 8 weeks...

great set up man! i just made my own oil return line, it works fine.
i took the fuel rail off for the first time and it was way easier then i expected just 2 bolts and a screw.oh and the hoses! i hate the hoses!! It does not look like it can slip out but if you lift it just the right angle, the turn it it will slide out the back end. clocking the turbo is kind of crazy. you have to unbolt the housings and the snap rings the mock set it up and turn the end so they point the right way! take it all out and tighten it all up. i think you have to get ss coolant lines imho. good luck and make the sr20 guys feel slow lol

im not really gifted with the whole make it gene in the family...i fail pretty bad...lol

i cant slide it out of the back...the motor is still in the car :inout:

i think i rather just buy the reclocking pieces that the previous poster showed me...itll be easier than messing with the flanges...i dont wanna have to worry about re torquing everyhting down...

Dalaz, here's another option for clocking the S14/S15 turbo, it's a bolt on adapter spacer:

Yeah, those are easier assuming you have the OEM inlet and outlet pipes.

i have the inlet...

as far as the exhaust i woudl just go with something like this...

and maybe this for the outlet...

Those are compressor inlet and outlet fittings thought not exhaust. Exhaust parts won't be made from aluminium.

Those fittings are what i used on my turbo, This isn't a GT2560R (T28BB), but it the GT2871R with the S15 OEM housings.

Also if the lock nuts that your using are the Nylock type (The type with the plastic in the end) they will melt and won't work.

thoughts

been working and schooling this whole time...hence my absence...the car sadly has suffered and been on hiatus aswell

finally getting it done...

the motor is still out and im thinking, f*** its out...might aswell do a new headgasket...

now, as stated before, im only going up to like 230hp with that t28 and 555inj...so im wondering...would a simple Felpro for an 88 pulsar be more than sufficient...?! day off tomorrow so i can actually go around and find one...
