Okay, so after almost 2 months if making mistakes with this damn car i finally figured everything out. First i had a misfire, then constant hydro locking, but i now know why. So my first assumption was a bad injector, and I was right... but we replaced it with an injector that had the wrong size O-ring so gas was seeping past the injector and causing the on cylinder to lock up. Then we spent a ton of time and money searching for the reason of why this one cylinder was locking. But long story short my car is a 92 NA, with new style injectors and the inner fuel rail adaption to fit the new style. In the picture the new injector is on the bottom and the old one is on the top, my question is if i swap the larger O-ring to the new injector will it work? i cant seem to find any injectors that look the same as the one that came out of the car. Both injectors have the same model number (A46-00). Thank you all so much for your help and advice.

Im a little lost on which o-ring you are talking about? Or really a difference in the injectors minus the silver piece.

The silver piece that is on the upper injector comes off. That is the adapter piece to use the new style in the old style rail. That is needed to the fuel injector to fit properly and not create a leak.

I was talking about the upper O-ring. But thank you so much because that metal piece is exactly what i need and didn't realize it was removable.

If that o- ring came with the injector, use that injector. Make sure you use some lubrication or you will have a leak. The older o-ring could have swollen up, could be the wrong one, which could also cause leaks or make it very difficult to install.
