I posted this in the ka forum as well, any help is greatly appreciated

I have a 92 coupe 5 spd. KA24de with 235,000 miles and cyl. #3 is getting loaded up with fuel, alot of fuel. Ive ohmed the injector and replaced with a known good one,new injector o-rings, checked the signal wire from the ecu for a short to ground and performed the diagnostic tests on the ecu,of course i get code 55. Compressions were 155 psi across the head and no coolant in the oil or vise versa. I checked for spark and replaced the #3 plug wire with a known good one. With the injector plugged in the engine smokes(white with a raw fuel smell) a hell of alot, unplugged no more smoke. also while the cranking engine with plugs out and coil dissconnected fuel pours out the spark plug hole, with the the injector unplugged no fuel comes out, this leads me to belive either I am missing the most basic problem or my ecu is junk. And it only seems to happen when its wet out side.anyone have any insight on my problem? encountered this before? any help is greatly appreciated

thanks,john

and if the noid light blinks that just means the injector is working right? a noid light wont tell me when it is firing compared to piston (crank) position or if the injector is staying open to long. or if it is reciving a legit signal from the e.c.u. etc. etc. and if it does not blink I am back to where i already am correct? thanks, John

i had the same problem a couple of days ago after replacing injector #1. lots of white smoke. it came down to the smaller of the two injector o rings. when installing the injector DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN the injector onto the fuel rail. i will put money on the o ring being the problem. that was mines. please use dealer's o rings.

Are there anything else that can cause this? I am having the same problems but I have went through 14 injectors, the first ten were used. CTS, Plugs cap rotor and wires, O2, Fuel pressure Regulator. I am stumped. Thanks if any one has any ideas.

noid light blinks=you're getting a signal from the ecu to fire your injectors/ it's not a test for the injector iteself...

Quote »Encased in each of the noids is an LED, which can draw little amounts of electricity to make a bright light. It doesn't matter ifs your ECU injector drivers are saturated or peak-and-hold type, the injector noid set can inform the technician whether or not you are getting the proper signal.[/quote] post up what u get from this test/ i think the GM style noid light tools would fit if nissan's arent readily available

figured id let you guys in on what happened. behind the E.C.C.S. there was a peice of foam that collected water because of a bad door jamb seal.then transferred said water to the curcit board of the E.C.C.S. shorting out the signal pin out for the #3 injector. after a good heat gun session and reassembly she started right up.
