I know the eariler Q's 90-96 are prone to injector failure around 150k miles or so... depending on how often BG44k was added and other care.

But how relabile are the injectors on the 97-01 Q? Are they the same as the eariler ones?

Any one out there with a FY33 that had to replace injectors... if so which ones and what milage? I think this will help everyone with a FY33 know more about the durability of the injectors in this model line.

I'll start it off -

97Q 91K - no injector replaced so far. BG44k once a year. 93 octane only.

BTW - I still cant get over the simple squeak fix on the 97Q. Read the thread on 97 Q Squeak ... posted recently.

Few injector failures on VH41DE are posted.

One or two coil packs. Very rare for either to fail.

I've had the #5 injector replaced after having the rough idle and very strong gas smell with 0305 and 0300 codes. The power balance test showed #5 cyl was bad @ ~80K miles. The plugs and the coils are OK. Regular cleaning (TB, IACV, EGR, MAF) and BG-44K every 5000 miles. New KS and harness.

The 1994 to 1996 Q45's aren't prone to FI failure.

Not the experience I had... Had multiple injectors go bad on a 94Q. Good diet - BG44k every now and then and 93 octance with cleaners.

I just hope the design isnt the same on the fy33 line.

Primarily owner gasoline selection, not design.........if the fuel contains chemicals and water that eat the insulation not much can be done.

There is no varnish that can protect against BADLY made fuels with water contamination.

Why everyone is going to returnless design to avoid the massive recirculation.

Tech is right... However the later injectors are likely designed to tolerate crappier gas..... the 94 injectors dont fail as often, but sometimes they do.....

Do the 94 injectors work in a 92?

Just wanted to add all the injectors were in 11-13 Ohm range.
