Chech this out: I have an 89 240 thats on its 2nd engine, and it has black injectors. Our nissan truck here is a 95 and has red injectors, along with 3 more truck ka's that i've torn down from varying years, these are all top feed.. A friend of mine has a 97 truck that has green side feed injectors...whats the difference???

ok, i read the spreadsheet in the ka-t forum and that answered half of this. black and green ones are 260 cc, but what are the red ones that come out of trucks? are they 260cc as well?

KA24DE and KA24E use the same size injectors (260 or 270cc). The DE is side feed and the KA-E is top feed.

I believe both the DE and E were available at some point in the hardbody. Maybe thats why some were top feed and others were side feed?

All of the DE side feeds Ive seen had red tops. Dont know what color the top feeds are...

errr, lemme clarify. This is all ka24e, not de. Hardbodies never had a dohc, until the frontier came out, then they switched engines altogether. The sohc ka has better torque than the dohc. I know that the black top feed and green side feed injectors are 260cc, but i've seen nothing on the red top feed ones that i keep pulling out of hardbodies. Its strange to begin with cause 92 hardbody had red, 95 hardbody had red, and 97 hardbody had green side feed, and it is not a de. why did they switch?

I am trying to figure out which injectors are stock on the ’89 240SX (which I assume is the same as the ’90) as well. On my car I just bought I have three that are a darker red and say "JECS" and "MADE IN JAPAN" and have a bright silver color mid section. The one that is different has a top that is brighter red, almost reddish orange and does NOT say "JECS" or "MADE IN JAPAN" and the middle section is a dark gray color, almost black.

Does anyone know which of these is stock and what the flow rating of them is?

From my research, all KA24E's and KA24DE's have 260-270cc injectors. jhans, I dont know what color they are, but if they in the motor and its running, I'll bet they are all the same size.

I didnt know any KA-E came with side feed injectors. But seeing how the KA-E stopped being used in the S13 in 1990, they may have made some updates that only apply to the trucks. Even if they change to side feed, I would guess theyre still the same size.

Compare specs (power, torque) from the 95 top feed KA-E to the 97 side feed KA-E. The outputs are the same, so even if they switched to side feed, I'll bet theyre the same size.
