Recently all free time has been spent prepping our 350z for the NOPI/NHRA season, including changes as drastic as a motor swap thanks to a 4.0L maximum displacement rule. After spending last weekend in our rig in Atlanta thanks to constant rain, we were finally able to make a couple passes at Moroso this weekend. After qualifying was over in a class of all Supras and us, we were sitting in the #1 position with a 8.99 @ 155mph. Sunday when eliminations came our crank sensor decided to give up and we didn't make the call. There is much more left in the car, and we are eager to see what it will do at the next race in NJ.

That is amazing. Whats the deal with the 4.0L VQ block? is that punched out VQ35DE? what pistons, rods, bearings, crank, & rings are you running (if you are at liberty to say)? Also, what would you recommend for head studs and gaskets? I plan to go with stage 2 BC cams and BC valves, springs and retainers, and comtec gaskets (this year). One more thing, can you post some pics of the Lexus and your Z, and the mods of your Z. I am interested in a single turbo set up (next year).

ThanksRyan

Hey, it is a stroked+bored VQ35DE. We use CP pistons, BC rods and BC crank. Cometic head gaskets are secured between the heads and block with stock-size L19 head studs. If you are looking for a built engine please contact me, or if you need parts for a build (we stock those cams, head gaskets and studs, etc).

Pics/info on my Lexus can be found at http://www.turbo6.net, and my Z is mild with a few bolt ons and a turbonetics kit.

Thats what i am going for on my Z, the turbonetics bolt on, but i am upgrading to the UTEC. I don't want a built motor just was interested in the parts used to make that thing that powerful, figured it was all Brian Crower, well mostly. The Cometic is what i meant as far as head gasket (typo on my post), now as far as you stocking those parts, do you have the stock sized BC valves, titanium springs & retainers, and stage 2 cams? If so how much each- gaskets, studs, cams, springs & retainers. I was planning on buying each item separately then when i have it all tearing into it. Would you recommend an injector upgrade for this build, or is one required (thats the main thing i am trying to figure out). if you want e-mail me so we don't waste space on this [email protected] the e-mail HEADS in all caps, so i don't delete the e-mail w/ other daily junk.

ThanksRyan
