So i was in need a shell and i put a post on here like 3 weeks ago and initial R90 Gary Doan contacted me and said he had one. I went scooped it out, it was okay.. Needed some TLC nothing wrong with that. So Yesterday I went picked it up. And on the way home im driving down the 295 in NJ and the back wheel falls off.....YEAH WTF! I was going straight when it happed. All 2 yes only 2 wheel studs were holding the bish on...And they sheared off anyways. So i Call gary right away no answer for like 45mins. Finally he answers i tell him that yeah im on the side of the road and theres a state trooper here about to ticket me and now i have to pay for a flat bed. when i say that he hangs up....Calls me back about 2 1/2 hours later....I ask him that this is kinda messed up and ask if he could help pay for the towing fee now which was 125. No big deal i just gave him 1500...He says no not my fault he says " I told you not to tow it like that cuz of the diff" Well ive towed plenty of RWD cars before never had this happen. Well I know the diff wont make any difference. welded or not. People drive with welded diffs so when i tow why would i make a difference.....HMM i just think it was shabby as maintence on this car. Well check out the pics, and i suggest i wouldnt deal with him nor his friends....

well i cannot speak for the persons character or whether he should have helped you out or not, but generally if i am towing or moving a car that i dont know much about i do a tire check and lug nut check to make sure its ok to move.

sorry to hear you had issues, but a welded diff wouldnt cause bolts to shear off though it does put more stress on the tires in turns. the lack of all the lug nuts is your culprit but i think you know that.

id expect that a decent person would prolly help you a bit, or would have noticed the lug nuts missing in the first place. but i do think its odd you diddnt notice the lug nits were missing.....

did it have a rim cover over the nuts themselves ?

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I wouldn't call him a scammer. His refusal to help you certainly reflects his character but he did give you what you paid for. Again, im not defending him as I think its a douche move he pulled but he did deliver a shell.

First of all, towing a RWD car safety first says you should disconnect the driveshaft if the rear wheels are rolling. If it has a welded diff especially then.

Onto wether you were scammed, I doubt he meant you any harm, and while that is pretty crappy unless he informed you that the car was in tip-top driving shape or you signed some kind of written warranty on it then I don't think you were scammed, although it does suck.

I'm going to remove the Initial R90 thread for now.

listen bro i told you three times that the diff is welded and my dad told you as well you decided to tow it your way anyway so therefore its your fault , if you towed it with the rear wheel's up on the dolly you would be fine there is so much force being put on the rear wheel's with a welded dif if your going into a turn 100% of your weight is going to the rear drivers's side wheel front a right turn with the front wheel's off the ground, only reason it dosent break with engine load cuz your pretty much drifting the turn . so if you gonna call me out as a scammer know your **** you have 8 post on here talk what you wanna ive been here longer and know more

sorry for what happend nothing i can do

sounds like R90 and his dad warned you.

Sucks but you were warned, you got what you paid for, and you called him a scammer when scamming isn't what he did.Let you learn your own lesson is what he did.

alright, well, lets get some things straight

1.you can tow a welded car fine2. you do not need the driveshaft out as long as its in neutral, the reason for needing to take the shaft out is so you dont blow ur AUTO trans3. its notR90s fault you didnt check the lug nuts on the vehicle, he told u he wanted it flatbeded4. He may have had **** to do, thats y he didnt answer.

anyway

it sux that your new car gor kinda fd up and r90, i would be mad if you didnt help me and you really cant expect him to pay for the tow.

so no hes not a scammer, it was a mistake

For now I'm going to lock this thread, if there are any further issues feel free to send me an e-mail at [email protected] I think both sides have had a chance to speak their piece and I really don't see it further helping out the community at all. Thanks guys.

Well I'm going to check to see if I can put your other thread but, in reviewing the user agreement it does violate it. Sorry man, but it is commercial, though you don't actually have a business you are doing the work for a fee and thus making your thread an advertisement. If you want to just verify it feel free to e-mail Greg (AZHitman) at [email protected] and explain to him what it is maybe include your original post and ask him if it would be acceptable. He is pretty busy so don't except an immediate response.
