I dont know if any of you have checked out the manga that came out for the initial D series. Well if you have I hope you feel the same way as i do about it. Tokyo POP slaughtered the originality and twisted out something of a putrid ricer style, including words like "homie" and things like that. Well if any of you are going to pick up the anime and hope they dont destroy that either then all we can do is try and sign this http://www.petitiononline.com/initiald/ . Sounds like a very hippie thing to do, but its not, its just us trying to get that JDM feel out of what is so Japanese. Thanks.

PS if this has already been posted, im sorry in advance.

tokyo pop should have a subtitled track that does not suck and will be acurate but then again anything is possible.

hmm. i saw the Initial D manga at borders and i flipped through it. doesn't surprise me much that they did that. go figure

i'd rather buy the anime. and my ex bought me I-D first stage with english subtitles. which, i'm much into anime, and i prefer to watch my anime with subs. the only series i watched that wasn't subtitled was Evangelion. but i watched EOE subs, macross plus, mononoke, etc etc etc. subtitled is better

Yeah Subs are better. I own the whole set of initial D - the hong kong version (aka copied). Most importantly though, if they rice out the best anime ever....god that will just suck. I just hate it when things i love fall into the hands of the idiotic... i should be used to it by now, but im not... oh well, do what you can.

i like a good dub much more than a sub. having to read as i watch takes away from the show IMO.

I like a good dub also but there are so few. The subtitles for Initial D should be great considering they used the scripts from Central Anime who done a great job. Its kind of angering that they had to change names and sentences but it's for the better as long as they include subtitles. Sometimes they don't have control over it and its the Japanese companies who want the changes such as Weiss Kreuz.

I like to watch anime with subs, yes it might distract you from the anime at the beginning, but once you get used to it, it's better than watching a dub. The only anime I watch that is english dub is Princess Mononoke, that's was a good dub. Initial D is a very good racing anime, the drifting is very good, but some of the cars Takumi beat is not realistic. There's no way a bone stock Corrolla GTS can beat a Skyline GTR BNR32, and the Lancer Evo 4. Too bad the S13 Silvia in Initial D sucks. Initial D is definitly better in Japanese.

I bet the guys at Club4AG got a surge of new members when Intial D came to the states. I hear there's a hentai version of Intial D, it's called Intial Double D ;)

would these be a backup for my DVD copy, or would they be on normal CDs? I want to know if I can play my backup on my DVD player in case I scratch my original copy from too many viewings;) :D
