The Infiniti Q is on the way back! Infiniti introduces the Q concept, according to insiders, which will arrive in US dealerships in 1-2 years. With its luxurious touches inside to its streamlined design outside, it’s got a “modern living” theme that makes it a top choice for the future.

On the interior, it’s got a backlit instrument cluster, a color scheme that extends throughout the instrument panel, storage compartments, smart climate control using an organic grape seed filter and much more. It looks clean and emphasizes functionality, but also has the feel of home.

The exterior includes some important features such as the suicide-door configuration, making the vehicle easy to enter and exit. In addition, it’s fuel-efficient and includes all of the safety features that you’ve come to appreciate in an Infiniti.

Ya know, I can't recall a single time when I needed to filter organic grape seeds out of my Q's climate control system...

Oh yuck! That's far worse than the swoopy sides of the new Mercedes. This is another one of those things that will get placed on my "what were they thinking?" board... right up there with the Aztec, lawn darts, BMW i-Drive, and that "superman" dance to that pathetic hip-hop song. Yes, I'm afraid not even those shiny 20" wheels could do much for that Q concept car.

That's the Intima concept.

I haven't seen or heard anything to indicate it has any connection whatsoever with the Q (I may have missed something; I hope I'm right, though). Then again, this wouldn't be the first time Nissan followed up a Nissan-badged concept with an identical Infiniti concept (they did this with the Fuga/M).

And yes, it's hideous.EVERYTHING is wrong. It's droopy, not even remotely agressive, has tons of Lexus-like pointless bulging...and 1/3 of the car's length is outside the wheelbase.

One thing I do like, just because it's an interesting idea, is how the headlights are partially integrated into the hood rather than having the hood work around the headlights. Done right, it could look good. As it is here, it doesn't look so hot.

obviously it will look a lot different... Remember the M concept? Look at what we got with the M...

I fully expect infiniti to make it look like the rest of their bland lineup.. Its not that the cars dont look that good, they all just look the same.

Except the Fuga concept was gorgeous and the actual car was a watered down Lexus (if such a thing is possible).

If this full size concept got any more bland and Toyota-like, it'd become a 90s Hyundai.

Actually I see some hope that Infiniti will not abandon the performance aspect of the car the way the other large sedan makers have. Still, it looks like a 4500 lb car, same as LS460.

I want to see an updated G50. 90 to 93 modeled rear. I've only recently realized that the 94-96 Q's have a weird slant on their bumpers. Like a saggy ***. The 90-93's have a nice shelf-like bumper.

As much as I love my belt buckle, I don't think it would go over well. I think they'll use the same MASSIVE grilles that they slapped on since the F50.

Make it look like the President. With more modern styling of course.

Don't really know anything about this concept but I just loved the grille comment. Essays were captured in that single reference. Beautiful.

All these cars are ugly to me..... they do better imitating a new 745 than those pile of craps... Id rather they make an updated version of the G50... Box cars are in style, and they need to lean towards that way... And as far as suicide doors.. i think they are doing that because the chrsler Imperial is coming out with that next year on their base model 2009 Chrysler imperials... They look alot better than this crap of a new Q http://www.automobilemag.com/f....html

I entirely agree.

I HATE that design style. It's terrible. So bland and lacking.I don't know when blurring the line between coupe and sedan became cool, but it needs to STOP. If I wanted a coupe, I'd buy an effing coupe. I want a sedan. Give me a sedan. Not some poseurmobile that's embarrassed to have 4 doors.

The best looking sedans ever are the like of the G50, E38, J30 Maxima, Acura Vigor, Seville STS...That needs to come back, even if it's "modernized."I LOVE the headlight/grille/hood area of my Maxima. The clean, subtle agressiveness is perfectly executed. It's probably my favorite Nissan fascia after the Belt Buckle. I wish Nissan would do something like that again.

And If Infiniti gives the new Q those $%# #$%^ stupid #@! hood ridges, I WILL fly to France and break Carlos Ghosn's jaw.

MinisterofDOOM: u could not have said that any better... Seriously i want another Q and willing to give up my G50 if i HAVE to. But im not going for a Benz/ Toyota idea. Id rather they mock BMW. Something that hugs tha road. And when u see it coming , you say to yourself " thats the shiznit" IMHO of everyday cars, a BMW 7 series are the kings of the road. And with modifications.. they look monstrous.. The concept tragedy that they are trying to invent looks like a friendly car... I WANT A MONSTER!!! A beast. Something that look at it, it barks. :-) get my point?
