I ran the diags using the info in the faq's and my check engine light is due to my inhibitor switch. It's a 96 240sx auto, I haven't got the service manual yet. Anybody tell me what it is, how prone it is to failure, and how hard it is to replace.Thank in advance.

the inhibitor switch tells the car what gear the gear selector is in. I can't remember off hand if it's part of the auto control unit or if it's a seperate unit. I don't have my FSM with me right now. I'll check later for you

Thanks alot, I've seen some places that it can prevent the car from starting, which it's not doing in my case. It does hard start though.
