Hi.... I have a 94 Nissan Pathfinder. I've been having problems with it starting. Took the starter in..it was bad and replaced with new starter. Still having the starting problems. Will start sometimes, and then all the sudden not start. Just clicks. There was a sticker under the hood that said to be sure and replace inhibitor relay. We have searched the hand book, internet etc..Cannot find where this is located on the 94. Could this possibly be causing the problem with not starting? Battery is good, celenoid is good. What else could it be possibly? HELP!!

Thanks a bunch!!!!

You probably have a factory keyless entry huh? THe alarm control unit is likly your problem. You can test it by bypassing the system. Under the dash near you right knee as if your sitting in the drivers seat you will see 2 connection points that look identical. if you disconnect both point and plug together the 2 connectors with the most colored wires you will have bypassed that system and can see if that is your problem. Inhibit relays dont go out all that often on nissans. Now if you had a manual trans there is a slight possiblility its the clutch interlock relay. But I am more inclined to think its the alarm problem.

HI.. Thanks for the info. I do not have a keyless entry but do have an alarm... I saw several sites with info regarding the alarm also, causing the problem. The manual shows all the relays except for the inhibitor relay, so we have no idea even where of if it has one. It started fine this morning, but like yesterday, got back in car to go somewhere and click click click ha! I will definately check on the alarm thought. Thanks a bunch for the info... Have a great day

In my first post I gave a pretty detailed discription on how and where to do that. Have you located the connectors yet? You may need to pull the lower dash trim off to see them. The actual control unit is under your drivers seat. But you cant simply disconnect that you have to by pass the system in the location I mentioned under the dash.
