Hi I recently bought a 93 240sx and a rb26det engine with an awd transmission.

I was wondering if any of you knew of a site or link that had details on this swap?

Do you guys know if the firewall and floor need to be cut to fit the engine and transmission? Please all the info is appreciated, thank you.

Well, someone is bound to say this so it might as well be me. If you are asking such questions then the swap is probably more then you're prepared for. I am by no means an expert but unless you have a plan for some crazy AWD conversion you will need an RB25 RWD transmission, then you'll need custom motor mounts, engine support brace and a whole ****-ton of other stuff. People have done it and written about it... use search.

I'm aware of the awd transmission problem and that it can be solve witha rb25 transmission, but what I was looking for was a walk through on the mounts and bracket fabricating part, if there had to be some cutting done a guide to the swap.

I've yet to find info on this swap, the only info found is about the parts that are needed, wich is practicaly obvious and that its a very expensive and time consuming swap(obvious too).

I thought you were going to say all you found in the search is *(parts for sale which sounds likely*

I'm pretty sure you use the RB MM from a R33, then the crossmember from a Gts-t. THat should put the engine low enough and in the right spot. This is from research... but you can hardly ever believe what any one person says, because someone else will say different. Best thing to do, is have a back up, and dive in dude take out old, drop in new for test fitment, get your driveshaft made, and maybe run some sort of standalone

Good luck

easy swap, sump need modding (use the alloy one rather than steel) and slight massaging of the tunnel to clear belhousing. i have done a few using the gtr box (transfer removed) but it requires floor mods

lots of info stickied if you go into the rb forum. they have mount kits, driveshafts and everything now, you dont HAVE to fabricate everything anymore. they even have how to swap dvds. do some poking around in the RB Motors forums
