hello, i am looking into swapping one of these motors, and i have heard that they have some specific mechanical difference from the sr and rb series? i think it is in the fuel delivery or drivetrain or somthing? but somehow they can rev a lot higher more safley? but i also heard that they dont have rocker arm stoppers so this information conflicts? sorry for being so vague but any info would be wonderful :) thanks

ca18 = rb2X with 2 cylinders chopped off basically (belt driven cams, split valve cover, iron block, high reving, etc...)

ca18 has nothing in common with the the SR other than they are both RWD 4 cylinder nissan turbo motors that can be found in s13's. Very different designs.

Rocker arm stoppers are only needed on motors with rocker arms, and only the SR has rocker arms.

hope that helped :)

thanks phil;)

chmercer, there is a TON of info in the CA section archives... spend some time reading old threads about how to make power with the CA, how much they cost, the strong/weak points of the motor, etc...

I'm on AIM alot: SOlsenA6, as are many of the CA guys. So go read old threads, and if you still have questions, ask one of us online, or start a new specific question thread:)

welcome to the madness known as the CA forum!

Sean
