I want to thanks everybody for reading this!

After final assembly and instalation I still haven't had an opportity to enjoy my KA-T because turbo itself went bad (bearing failure). I have this rebuild unit which is Garrett T3/T04E with 0.48 A/R turbine. From what I know it's kind of small for KA24. Anybody with actual experience with this size turbine please share your experience. I still have 0.63 A/R turbine housing from my previous turbo, it doesn't look damged. I think I can simply switch housings. Is there anything except marking compressor wheel to shaft position I should be aware of.

Thanks.

The .48 will be fine for the KA, it just won't have the top end that the .63 will have. But you'll spool faster with the .48. How much boost do you plan on running?

Hey, WD!Thanks for quick reply. At this point I have a Tial Wastegate with 7 psi spring. So that's the boost for now, but I already have stock SR injectors and S-AFCII and will run around 10-11 psi once I install it all. I know it's not much but I want to play it safe on a stock engine. I really don't want turbine A/R be small to a point when I would have boost spikes.

Thanks.

See if the boost drops off at 10-11 psi at 600rpm or so, if it starts to drop off, then you'll know you have to switch to the .63. But I'm betting you'll be ok.

....and 10-11psi from a T3/T4 is WAY too much boost for stock SR injectors.

You might squeeze 9psi out of them safely, but at that point...you should be at +240rwhp.

.48 A/R is fine for your setup...but if you go bigger, swap to the .63 housing.
