Any one out there in nismo land done any stroker engines on 4s or 6sim looking for crank/rods at moment thinking about KA24 crank but looking for rods that would fit to LD20 belt drive currently stock crank of 86mm KAs run 96mm.

My second Q is are there any forums for Diesel engines. (Besides the truck forum) seems to be bucket loads for the various Gas engines not a lot for diesels.

Unfortunately Diesel engines in Nissan's built/Sold in North America are a rare bird. The only platform that had them was the Datusn 720's and these were mostly limited to the 2WD variety in the early 80's.

When we go across the pond to Oz, Africa, Japan etc the diesels are quite plentiful. The Terrano ( Pathfinder), Navara(Frontier) Even the D21's had them and the darn things had 4 doors to boot!, my all time favorite is the big diesel they put in the Safari Patrol. We could look into the odds and sods for the chuggers and see what comes of it but this is what I did find so far.

Straight 4

SD22The SD22 is a 2.2L (2164 cc) Straight 4 diesel engine. It produces 70 hp.[verification needed] It was used in the 1965-1971 Nissan Cedric

The SD22 was also used in Datsun 720 pickup trucks 1980 through 1983, producing 61 SAE brake horsepower @ 4000 rpm. The engine has three main bearings (an SD33 six minus two rear cylinders) and was never turbocharged like the phoffs car. In 1981, pistons were upgraded to a three ring piston with a steel compression ring carrier cast as part of the piston for improved durability.

SD23The SD23 is a 2.3L (2289 cc) Straight 4 diesel engine with 8 valves (2 per cylinder), and an inline injection pump. It produces 73 SAE hp @ 4300rpm [verification needed]

SD25Fitted to Nissan 720 pickup trucks 1983 through 1986 and first year D21 Nissan pickups in 1987. Featured five main bearing crankshaft & redesigned rear main seal.

2.7L(TD)Haven't found any info except it was listed in some wrecked trucks that were for sale in Australia (It might be a typo on the site)

2.8L (TD)Haven't found any info except it was listed in some wrecked trucks that were for sale in Australia (It might be a typo on the site)

ZD30 3.0L 16 valves TD w/intercooler. Rated @ 171HP. Currently sold in newer model Nissan trucks in Australia.

Straight 6

SD33The SD33 is a 3.3L (3246 cc) Straight 6 diesel engine, most known for its use in the Nissan Patrol MQ (160 series) from 1980-1983.[1] In 1983 a turbo was added to the Diesel Patrol to boost power from 78 kW to 103 kW [verification needed] (see SD33T below).

The SD33 was the brainchild of Lachlan Winnall, an engineer at Nissan Diesel (UD) from 1956 through to 1992 when he took up motor racing in Great Britain. The Engine was also used in the UD 3400 series light truck.

SD33TThe SD33T is the Turbocharged version of the SD33 engine and was used in 1980 for the powerplant in 6400 International Harvester Scout II's. All were equipped with a T-19 manual transmission [verification needed]. From July 1983-1987 SD33T engines were fitted to the Nissan Patrol MK (160 series - model 2). 28 MPG highway - 101 HP

4.2L (Inline 6 TD)Sold in current model Patrols.

I did locate these sites from OZ. Poor busted up things....but it might be a source for a reliable diesel engine!
