Hello all I am currently working on a project 260z and I am stuck between two engines for it, the rb25det and the sr20det.

So I come over here to ask, what makes the rb25det such a praised motor? What would one expect to put into it cash wise to get some decent speed. And do you think it would be a better choice over the sr20det for me?

I really am a noob to the import scene since I have only messed with classic/muscle cars my entire life, so I come to you guys for the information I lack.

Ive got a 240z myself which I am putting an RB25 in. I recommend you check out hybridz.org, I am on there as well and there is a lot of good information about both of the swaps you are talking about. I have owned KA turbos, SR20s and I purchased a rb25 motorset for my datsun. To be honest I just wanted to keep a nissan straight six under the hood and the noise the RB emits is unforgettable :D
