So I'm not much into stereos like I use to be, but I did find this fun. Here are some pics of what my 4x6 plate speakers look like after running them for 10 years. Quite a good bang for the buck if you ask me. I was running them with a small 4 channel amp the whole time. They finally kicked the bucket.

Nice....

Years ago I pulled some dry rotted 3.5" speakers out of an old Cutlass and hooked them up to my home system. Turned it on and immediately went 1/2 volume and the cones completely blew off the speaker. Twaz cool

When I worked for CC, we used to hook subs up to wall current and race them down the work bench to see which one could get the furthest before it blew. Gives whole new meaning to the term bench racing.

Sounds like it. I remember testing the Adcom car audio amps when they were released by completely shorting power and ground. Damn things would not blow up. They were 1/4-ohm stable as well.

Back in the day, Orion would put their HCCA amps in water, power them up, and use the speaker wires to cut aluminum cans in half.

On a side note, the Polk audio speakers in the back of the car are still in mint condition after 10 years.

Doors have a lot of moisture which is why they are cooked like that.

Yeah I thought about that too, so I replaced the fronts with Polk Audios that are marine rated.
