Searching on crutchfield, I found that the Infinity Kappa 462.5cfp 4x6" 2-ways plate speakers don't fit in the door. Does anyone know why? I'd rather do a little modifcation then have to make a new backing plate for 6.5" oin the front. I heard these in a kids Prelude and they sounded REAL GOOD. Do these speakers hit something in the door? How do the POLK/MOMO 4x6" plate speakers sound?

I have a '91 Coupe with power everything.

to let you know on my fastback I had on of the Infinity's don't remember which model but it fits with a little modification to the housing. I tested them out at a store before I bought them and it sounded the best for the price to me.

Does Crutchfield say they won't fit (physically) or just say they won't "fit"?

If you have the "active" speaker system, they'd probably say they wouldn't fit, but that's due to the wiring/amps on the speakers.

Hope this helps.

I currently have these in my car. Crutchfield says they will fit, but they don't say you have to make them fit which is what you have to do. You will need to trim the corners of the plate, just have to knock the edge off of them. You will also have to trim the plastic speaker mount in the door. The magnet will hit part of it, you'll see what I mean if you set one of the speakers in place to do a test fit. I would also recommend getting longer screws to mount them as the stock Nissan screws are not long enough. To prevent rattles I would also use a small amount of silicon (RTV) on all four corners.

Thanks, you all helped. Crutchfield just says taht it won't 'fit'. Now, how is the wiring with the active speakers? Is there anything different with that?
