I want a pair of the Infinity Kappa 42.71 speakers to replace the factory Bose speakers in the front door. The Kappas have a 1 13/16" Mounting Depth and 3 7/16" Cut Out Diameter.

I am wondering before I order them if they will work without alteration. I am going Alpine 609's in the rear and the PIONEER FH-P800BT Headunit.

don't forget that the 1.1L volume of the front speaker box is tuned to a 4inch driver.sure you can stuff a bigger speaker in, and it might sound pretty good. but, you'll be starving it for acoustic mass.

did you decide to keep your bose speaker amps? they will work well as long as you choose a high sensitivity speaker---something >90 dBA/1 watt.

Kappas are very bright. Expect lots of highs.

Yeah I like the highs in the front and the alpine 609's will cover the lows in the rear. I am thinking I will disconnect the tweeters in the pillar if I am getting to much of the highs........but after being in it and hearing it there is always the thought to readjust somethings.

Thanks but I have no where to do any work on my car. So it will all be done at the shop. Meaning I am not saving any bucks so I do not want to do any alterations at this point. If the 4" Infinity's do not work as well as I assume, then when the weather changes I can consider doing a further upgrade. Indiana weather does not allow us to do much outside in the winter.

No the Bose amps are too restrictive. I want to go with another system that is easier to wire and rewire. By the time I buy used amps and install, then wire the new speakers to front and rear..................If one of the old 14 yr old amps go out again I am still needing to find used amps and repeat the same old sh--! So later for all the Bose stuff and if something goes awry I can fix it very easily by replacing the speaker.....not having to find and pay for, harder to get Bose amps that go bad.
