what's the part name that controls the power door locks? seems like it sticks when it's hot outside. would push power lock on door or remote but wouldn't lock/unlock but would try to. seemed to work when it was cold? any ideas? thanks.

it's a coupe, so if the driver door doesn't work, neither does the passenger door. does it look like i need to replace a part or spray some lube on parts????

when it's acting up..... i push the lock button (or the remote) to lock or unlock and the knob moves but maybe only 1/4 - 1/3 of the way and stops.

is it simple enough for me to replace. is it as easy as unplugging the old one and plugging in the new part??? it might be the best time for me to do it (if i can) because the door panel is off right now.

well...its not easy...and not hard. just hope you have small hands. when you open your door...look on the side where it latches to the body...the 3 screws you see hold on the actuator. but its also connected to the outside door handle. its also what those 2 cables that connect to the door panel go to. you would need torx head screw drivers to remove the lock cylinder thats connected to it

hope this helps

Hey I am having trouble with mine also... I decided to take my door apart and see what is going on inside there... It looks like to really get in there and take that thing out... I will have to take the driver side window out. Any tips on where I can buy a new solenoid for cheap? Also are there replaceable parts inside the unit that I could tinker with? I'm still in disbelief that it just stopped working. I added you to my AIM buddy list... hoping to catch you on there as this is an old thread.

I'm online with daveydonn

Thanks,

David

Hi guys,

I am also having the same problem with my 03 Coupe. The passenger door is getting 'stuck' where the lock barely moves when I use the keyless or use the door lock/unlock button. You're saying I need the entire lock assembly, correct? Looks like the part costs around $150 online.

The replacement requires removing the entire door panel, correct?

Thanks for your help guys. Hopefully I can replace this myself.
