Was originally sold the car in '08 at 90K with a bad CAT. (Was able to find previous owner and the Dealer just turned off the light!)
History:
1. Code P0430: Got a few 02 sensors replaced and the Pre-converter" replaced in Bank 2, on the upper left hand side, near radiator, on exhaust manifold.
2. A few years later got Codes P0171 and P0160: had to replace MAF Sensor, 02 Oxygen Sensor, and update the ECM.
3. Last year got Codes P1320 and P0430(again): Replaced #6 Engine coil, but left the CAT's alone (Code P0430).
4. Currently (137K): Replaced leaky Radiator, Spark Plugs, and Air Filter, but have been having Intermittent rough idle at stop/slow speeds. (Car jerks around and felt like it would stall at stops-but hasn't yet). Put car into passing gear when rough idle was happening-seems to have caused the P0110 Code to appear (P0110 - Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction). SES Light is now intermittently blinking!!
I'm guessing it is not safe to drive the car this way, is it even safe to drive to the dealer about 20 miles away? I know the dealer told me I should replace at least 2 of the CAT's, but that would cost more than the value of the car at this time.
I love this car, and don't want to find a new one, but is it time to let go?
Thank you for any help you can offer!
***Update: Replaced IAT Sensor-that didn't help, though a friend said that code could have been just from replacing the radiator?? Anyhow, I also filled the transmission fluid which was a little low, but that didn't help either. Car still jerks around and sputters in drive and reverse, especially at lower speeds. It seems ok when just in park or neutral. SES is still blinking! Any ideas out there?
